Kind of slapstick, kind of weird, the story of the "Clever Girl" stuck in my mind because it was so obviously not about the girl, but about the men in her life and the dumb disputes they get themselves into because of greed. That she's clever--or at least, sensible and very creative-- only exists as a plot device to get the men what they require /  solve dude problems.

Got a bit caught-up with the comedy of the story, so didn't address the woman issue so much, but hey, at least she got an education and climbed the corporate ladder?
